In this episode, Brian chats with Katie Dunn, an angel investor and partner at Power to Pitch, a company focused on advising founders on fundraising strategies, reviewing pitches, updating pitch decks, meeting with program members on a weekly basis for support, AND actively making introductions to investors.
Katie has financed over $10 billion in commercial real estate, but she recognized that her job was no longer serving her. So, she found her passion for helping startup companies through angel investing.
Katie shares her passion for finance and how she navigated the work environments that she has been a part of. She also discusses some little-known facts about commercial real estate finance, a field that she excelled in for over two decades.
As the pandemic swept across the world, it had an impact on everyone’s lives, including Katie’s. She reflects on the things she wished she had done differently and shares her experience of taking a chance and jumping without a net, and how it gave her a ton of confidence in her abilities.
We also learn about her Angel Investing journey, the work that she does with Power to Pitch, and a few success stories of brands she has invested in and where they are now.
